Protect Trans Kids!

the heart of the matter

I’m excited to present our FIRST video newsletter. However, I’m less than thrilled about having to talk about this topic - standing in support of our transgendered community, especially youth.

The radical right in our country is pushing hate legislation to strip away the health and dignity of trans people. We’ve seen this playbook used before, and we are not going to fall for it again. It's crucial for parents and communities to engage in positive parenting practices and educate themselves. There are parenting classes available on how to support and affirm transgender individuals, particularly youth, in their journey towards health and dignity.

Please consider donating to the following organizations who fight the good fight:

Transgender Law Center

Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund

Small donations matter! What’s the combined age of your kids?

Blocking out my calendar. I learned this amazing time saving and schedule protection hack from Samantha Unrau’s LinkedIn. She’s an executive at Nike who is fearless about advocating for boundaries and balance for parents. I’m in my second week of doing this and I love it!

Destini Ann’s podcast. My goal is to start a parenting podcast in a year or so. When I do, I hope it’s something like Bitch, You Doin’ A Good Job. Destini Ann is my favorite parenting influencer. It’s great to see a Black mom making things happen. She’s real, wise, and a little sassy. Her Insta is fantastic, too.
